The clear Acrylic plate is drawn onto with board markers and the ink applied by brush or roller to the other side of the plate – which shows the drawing matrix as a guide. The plate is printed onto paper through the etching press. Often, more ink and drawing is applied to the plate and reprinted on top of the first print to create richly layered colour.
